History…My interest in music recording began to accelerate at 16 years old when my young band rented rehearsal space from a recording studio in New Mexico, where I grew up. This was my first introduction to the world of studio recording- and when I saw the control room and studio, I knew it was where I wanted to be. I loved the idea of working with musicians playing in the studio while one could direct, record and mix the elements of their music. Soon after, I went back to that studio and became an intern- I loved it! I was like a sponge for learning- I wanted to know everything there was to know about recording. The owner, Doug Blakely, taught me so much about the whole process, many lessons which I still practice today. It was all very exciting, watching sessions and helping with various daily activities which included building new equipment and editing tape on old 2 and 4 track machines. I worked at that studio for several years.
I learned so much so fast, and was learning from some of the most well known producers and engineers. I continued there for a few years and soon enough I became a staff engineer, recording many different artists before I knew it. I was one of those guys interacting with artists and producers and involved in the record-making process that I had imagined when I was younger. Back then, the only format with which we had to record was analog tape. I was working in an analog only world. Evolving with the times, we made the transition to and from various digital formats. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked in all different styles of music and recording/mixing mediums. I have enjoyed working with artists on many records and CD’s, sometimes getting the opportunity to produce as well as engineer. In the early 90’s I left Power Station to become freelance, mostly working in New York, LA and Nashville. It’s always been a fun adventure, working with many talented people. I am constantly discovering ways to come up with something different to offer the listener. …And Today

Before Long, I moved to New York City with the intention of finding a job
at a major recording studio. Shortly thereafter I was lucky enough to
acquire a position at one of the most famous studios in the world:
Power Station. I was so excited; the studio was huge and fascinating to
me.
I’ve been having
fun doing many different kinds of projects.
